Poetry: Wind by Ted Hughes

It’s a day, threatening to be an entire weekend, of high winds across Ireland. Ironically, it’s not that wet and not that cold, though hardly tropical in any sense!

After a week of wading slowly through the treacle of wanting to write lots of good academic work, I’m glad it’s the weekend and soon time to pour a glass of quality wine and just relax.

Appropriately, today’s poem from the Red Shed is ‘Wind’ by Ted Hughes – as ever, his phrasing is so clear and evocative, no word wasted. In my (rambling) preamble, we have Mental Health Awareness week, lots of gales, Normal People by Sally Rooney, novel news and Ted Hughes. I hope you enjoy it.

Keep on keeping on!

Lots of hugs,

Patrick xo
