Poetry: “Thomas MacDonagh” by Francis Ledwidge

Today, I read the beautiful poem, ‘Thomas MacDonagh’ by renowned Irish war poet, Francis Ledwidge. I first came across this poem through the Irish choral group, Anúna, which I was blessed to be a member of for quite a few years.

It was only recently that I took to reading more of Francis Ledwidge’s work and to delve deeper into his life story. Join me today for some brief highlights of his life and to share his beautiful words about Thomas MacDonagh, the Irish patriot who was executed for his part in the Easter Rising.

Take care of you and yours,

Much love,
